Raavanan

I have not been a great fan of Mani's movies ever since Uyire as almost all of them were around social subjects and heavily packaged. Mani's movies of 80s and 90s were definitely a pleasure to watch.

His latest, Raavanan, be it in Tamil or Hindi, no doubt, would have been his worst ever. Sujatha was dearly missed. The dialogues were a huge let down, Aishwarya Rai was (I felt always!) a total misfit, songs, except 'Usurae Pogudhu' and 'Kodu Potta', weren't great either.

I feel the loyalty to the Bacchan family has taken him no where. 3rd film with Abhishek and it's bombed big time. So no wonder what needs to be corrected immediately.

Besides it, a specialised dialogue writer, a 'girl next door' heroine like Madhubala or Saranya and a light subject but packaged nicely is what one yearns from a Mani movie. Like my wife said, this movie has no 'gravity'. That sums it all. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging.
